There were moments where it almost worked & I would have run with it. (If we had stayed with fucked up characters & got actually freaky). But it was too scared of itself to perform. Hiding behind montage, tropes, irony & needle drops. For me, it needed to be raw and unflinching to stick that kind of landing.
Three other flaws:
- The “why now?” question was never even approached for Nicole’s character.

Goofy, fun film but with no special desire to explore characters/ sports/ eroticism etc
Bouncy music v fun, but also made us all laugh by the 8th time it came blasting out over the dialogueWas this editing/ directing style a statement about the heterosexual monogamous ownership model not allowing you to experience anything deeply & honestly?
Not sure, but I was defo unmoved.Two stars (nice movie, ok time) because I am “somewhat of a goof myself” and yet… I also want a little bit of substance because I remain a fussy bitch.
