    A genre-bending film that is both a refutation and an ode to the “biopic” itself. The focus on Malcolm X’s intellectual development was an ingenious way to frame the film’s arc. Denzel is brilliant, capturing the diction, mannerisms, and essence of Malcolm X with incredible talent. 

    Only issue is the runtime and pacing - I had to split this over three viewings. But it’s the price to pay for such a comprehensive and rewarding film.
