  Haven't seen From Dusk Till Dawn in maybe 15 years and had forgotten what an absolutely blast it is! So many over-the-top scenes, but in a good way. Had so much fun rewatching this. Recommended.

  The comedy timing of Melissa McCarthy is undeniable and she's definitely one of the best comedians on film in recent years. I had even more fun than I expected.

  And finally a movie where I absolutely love Jason Statham, his character is so spot on. 😂

  This movie is for Alien what Prey is for Predator!

  Brilliant directing by Fede Alvarez, young but solid acting performances all around and a respectful homage to the original material while still standing on its own feet.

  Such a detailed and at the same time brutal sound design. Probably one the best sound mixes I've ever heard. Saw an interview with the sound engineers Will Files and Lee Gilmore before the movie, who explained their approach to the sound design.…

  Civil War 2024

  Civil War feels like a musicvideo/roadmovie/warmovie all in one, and it actually works well. It's about the role of journalism in conflicts, about how even when trying to be objective, the perspective of words or in this case photographs is still a perspective. The sound design was brutal and combined with the silent or music only scenes worked really well in contrast. I'm not sure I'm going to watch the movie again, but that is ok. It was still very much worth a watch. Recommended.
