start to finish is an immaculate trance
one thing I don’t understand is why. why the war is happening. the meaning behind the apocalypse. Willard’s drive is so minimal; he follows orders because he doesn’t know what else to do with himself. It feels like it takes nothing to open his eyes, the display of the horror is for the audience’s benefit. What is he fighting against internally? what was he fighting for to begin with?
