!!! It was the cat's meow. It sometimes had the look of a video game cutscene, and with no dialogue, it is a triumph to be so captivating. This is no HOMEWARD BOUND. There are some very unexpected encounters in this movie that will leave you with wonder.
I would quibble over some of the physics here and there (cats have a "drowned rat" look after getting out of the water, but this cat must've been coated in wax), but it draws you in so well that these seem trivial.
M a g i c a l ! Reminds me what big studio films used to be like. Amazing cast, sets, costumes...and those sets and costumes being fully utilized. 2024 turned out to be a great year for cinema.
After you see the movie, look up the behind the scenes with Elphaba. Doing her own stunts and singing live on set. Bravo!
