  Wow. God damn...WOW. This was an absolutely oven-fresh take on the survival genre. I threw it on while only knowing it had a 94% on RT and that it was a "thriller". I assumed it was just another wilderness-survival-oh-no-a-wolf movie and almost looked elsewhere. Shortly after that things got really fucking interesting and I was on the edge of my seat for the whole thing. I'll just say one thing: in the words of former NY Jet Bart Scott, POETIC JUSTICE

  It's so damn good. Everything about it is well done. Benicio del Toro's performance stands above the rest IMO. One thing though....if Juárez was so dangerous, how did they film a movie there? Haha gottem

  Brother let me tell ya on thing. This was an instant 10/10 for me. Jordan Peel is 3 for 3 so far with me. Tension, laughs, visuals, the tone and how it changes, truly disturbing scenes, the chimp...the chimp stuff was absolutely brutal.

  Blow-Up 1966

  I gotta be honest, I can appreciate the legacy of this one, and what it helped pioneer. I can also appreciate and enjoy a slow burn, but this was a VERY slow burn. It pushed past my tolerance for that style by a country mile. I have to personally thank this movie for giving us Brian De Palma's Blow Out, of which I enjoyed sooo much more. Maybe I'm just a De Palma Stan idk.
