Anderson’s most indulgent film.
The details are crafted so meticulously that they are almost distracting.
Not enough can be said about the two leads and the chemistry constantly created and fractured over the course of the film.
Like many of PTA’s works, Phantom Thread teeters on chaos. However, the film opts not to enter a full tailspin. It’s a much more mature film from Anderson, one that dwells much more on emotion than action.
