I've been dying to watch this and I finally got around to renting it! I expected this to be more tragic but it was warm and loving and forward-thinking. Beyond just a lesbian love story, it challenges the position of women in Indian society. And I loved it. I didn't get to experience it to the fullest (thanks to my very needy cat distracting me over and over) but I still really appreciated this. Wow wow wow, what a film! I love women.

I'm not particularly crazy about fairy tales, dark or not, so this had to be very good for me to love it. I think the ghost town setting was super interesting but I couldn't connect to the characters at all. Nice emotional film but just not my cup of tea.

The cuntiest Hamlet to ever be created, with a beach episode and everything. I had no idea genderswapping could go this hard. I'm biased in my score because I am obsessed with Hamlet. I struggled with Erksan's Time to Love (1965) but this? This is fully my cup of tea. The cinematography, the acting, the theatrical set design, and the creativity while still staying faithful to the original story, this might be one of the best Hamlet adaptations up to…

This one surprised me! Definitely a very interesting figure to focus on. I don't think the flashforwards worked and should've just been kept as text cards. But every other storyline, or better yet, historical event, was very interesting. Did it feel very drawn out? Yes, but I was anything but bored. The casting is incredible, especially Matthew McConaughey as Newton Knight. Definitely a hard watch at times but I also just immediately want to dive into some American history books.
