Overall, this movie was enjoyable and a lot of fun to watch. I appreciated its lighthearted, fun vibe, which made it a refreshing experience. It also sparked some nostalgia, especially with its portrayal of the freedom that come with moving out for the first time, transitioning into university life, and being surrounded by others going through the same thing. I also really enjoyed the diverse range of personalities.
This movie was clearly well thought out, and I appreciate the deeper meaning behind some of the scenes. You could really feel the intense emotion between characters. That said, it just didn’t quite resonate with me and I felt like it was almost predictable. There was something about the storyline that I found a bit lacking in intrigue.
I was overall impressed with the acting and visuals considering this movie is over 40 years old. The first half of the movie seemed a little predictable. Drew Barrymore was definitely my favourite character and had some really cute funny moments. Overall pretty good movie that pulls a little on your heart strings, but I wouldn’t necessarily watch it again.
I wasn’t sure about the film's direction until halfway through, but it turned out to be a heartwarming movie that tugs at your emotions. It beautifully depicts the loving bond and support between siblings and the strength of family during challenging times.
