Mommy 2014
One of my favorite relationships was Miss Kyla the angel and Steve and how their characters were juxtaposed. I felt for both extremes: one use of voice so unfiltered and authentic, while the other filled with simplicity and doubt. Die, at the center of this contrast, was left directionless as she dealt with her broken yet hopeful idea of motherhood.
This film quickly became one of the most emotive films I ever watched. The decision to shoot in a 1:1 aspect ratio mirrored the compact and intense emotions and performances, which were so beautifully highlighted thru portraiture.
