Refreshing to see a depiction of aging that isn't grounded in flashbacks/reminiscing, and instead focused on Carol's new interests and her engagement with things that she used to enjoy in order to show how life/time has changed her. Want more Blythe Danner and/or Sam Elliot.
Watched this like 3 ya prob. Dystopian setting - while initially promising - fell short. But since I'm a sucker for well-executed nonverbal communication, I loved the last 10-15 minutes; cinematography/acting kinda reminiscent of the Rumbling in AOT.
Bitter sweet movie; heartwarming moments with sad undertones surrounding the theme of chosen family. Everybody had layers; realistic, sensibly irrational(?). Life as turbulent and fleeting came thru in interesting ways throughout
In brief; 1:24:11 - 1:29:10 was a 9.5/10 yap session. Cinematography was cold. Their on-screen chemistry was sooo good. I'm glad this dude stayed a side character
