  this is the gayest performance I’ve seen from Al Pacino (including when he played a queer man) and it feels weird to see him being a silly and goofy twink who does bits and laughs a lot. 

  gene hackman plays the most hatable protagonist I’ve seen in a WHILE and every time he was on screen I wanted to look away 

  interesting that both actors regard this as one of their favorite personal performances

  i really enjoyed this movie!! it was so interesting seeing the stark difference between the American and French prison systems. i love the choice to show the hard labor on screen and of course i love the male friendships depicted. will probably rewatch!!
