  Something Wild 1986

  This is a not so good movie.
  But a very fun movie as you figure out who was cast as who.
  I recommend having IMDb up alongside.
  This film is basically one of those EyeSpy books published by DK in the 90's.

  Ray Liotta is the stand out.
  Once he shows up the film gets a bit better.
  Don't watch this for the story. Married to the Mob is a better film. But the visuals, casting and camera work will make you happy.

  I'm a world before the Internet this would have been wild. Look for Nelson.

  I've got a soft spot for this film.
  Growing up in Nebraska with loony parents I didn't get much exposure to music. But I did have a VCR, and this was one of the first sort of arts film I got to see in the era of Prozac based blockbusters.

  Production is outstanding.
  Set design really is flawless and this film was made before so much of the digital imposing of filters was a thing so it's not as cliche as it would be today.
  Editing is good for the most part.
  Acting is good, and cheers to Bana for being the lead in this film that has such a heavy subject.

  However. It is flawed and the flaws are evident while you watch. The main flaws are Kushner, Roth and Spielberg himself. The script is by far too simplistic for the grandeur.

  This film is probably one of my top ten favorite films from the 2010's.

  It gets funnier every time. It also becomes more and more elusive as the young cast gains more acclaim. Seems like IF you want that franchise, you can't have this lingering out there.

  This is very much a time capsule.
  If you've met these people, you KNOW these people in this film.
