  The most New York film in ages. So much to love and so glad I watched in theatres. Sean Baker merging the worlds of the sex workers and lowerclassmen he always observes with such warmth and empathy and the nouveau riche prove a logical, but audacious next step in his oeuvre that doesn’t forgo what made him so great in the first place. Yes to the twilight cinematography, yes to Mikey Madison, yes to the physical comedy. I want to say this was Spring Breakers meets Scorsese but that feels corny idk man. But I really loved it!

  Sleepy, almost aloof in how Malick juxtaposes the natural, sun-hued warmth of his imagery with how blunt and sudden Kit’s killings are. Sissy Spacek has this super hypnotic vibe about her, like an entity of innocence constantly orbiting around decay. Really quite good but I think I’m more drawn to some of its individual minutiae than the film as a whole.
