Memoir of a Snail 2024
I enjoy sad tales but couldn’t emotionally connect with the film. It was attempting to be thought provoking but ended up just spelling out deeper themes of the film which lessened its impact. Did not allow the viewer time to try and have a critical thought before the explained what they were trying to do. This film was rated R so it was obviously not for children but the script almost made it feel like they were speaking to a child.…

Bridget Jones's Diary 2001
I was not a fan of them glorifying her detrimental drinking and smoking habits. Found it quite unsettling how they kept mentioning her weight being an issue when she’s entirely healthy. Lots of unsettling comments from characters throughout the film that somehow got swept under the rug. Romanticized unhealthy relationship between Bridget and her love interests as well as her parents. Wouldn’t voluntarily watch again.
