I'm absolutely mesmerized; haven't seen such a hauting movie in a while. Left me hypnotized in a 2001: A Space Odyssey way - which shows how Glazer's influences helped him make this. Lots of beautiful shots and great sound design together achieve something almost transcendental. When things started getting a bit clearer, its direction made sure that the mystery kept sealed. Even though the plotline is simple, there's a large room for interpretation. The cast, besides Scarlett Johansson, is unknown and common people from Scotland, which made everything even more interesting.

    Beautifully twisted.

The plot may be predictable and may not carry itself in a dense and very thoughtful way - as expected by its premise - but the touch of "director Park" turned it into an endearing and charming piece of cinema.

It really isn't what it seems, taking you through a trip of really dark scenes and an excellent performance by James Franco as Alien. I must say that, as all Harmony Korine's movies, it isn't something I'd recommend to everyone. However, it is probably the most cohesive and stylised experience Korine has made up to this date.
