inherent vice is quite literally a stoner detective fever dream!! like when you’re half asleep but still kind of dreaming. the writing is so sharp and quirky, every scene kinda feels absurd yet somehow meaningful especially when Sortilège narrates??!! the lighting is so beautiful, groovy, golden, pulling you into this version of 1970s LA!! LOVED the scene with the endless ties. it’s such a random, unique shot that just added to the film’s chaotic, entrancing vibe. this movie is messy, dreamy, and so weirdly beautiful!

There’s something so fascinating about watching a man completely lose himself in his obsession with a woman. It’s desperate, intense, and I love it, heheh!! Keanu Reeves is so beautiful, and he makes everything feel both tense and dreamy. i loved the opening scene! it sets the tone perfectly, making Dracula’s obsession feel like so much more than just hunger. It’s love, loss, and centuries of longing all wrapped into one. BUT my favorite scene is Jonathan traveling to meet…
