“So if everyone was on tv all the time, everybody would be better people. But if everybody was on tv all the time, there wouldn’t be anyone left to watch. Anyhow, they’re flying me to go on Oprah next weekend. I hope she’s gonna give me some diet tips.”

Nicole Kidman is infectious as a vain and conniving wannabe starlet. To Die For shines a darkly funny light on people’s obsession with fame and relentless desire for self-importance. 21 year old Joaquin Phoenix as a dim witted little shit is gold too.

    Surprising little banger, this one.

Such a cool and offbeat thriller that may be of Francis Ford Coppola’s best films and I never even heard of it until Gene Hackman’s passing. I love the piano soundtrack, I bet my money the Severance team pulled inspiration from it.

Homegirl needed to dial back the hysterical over acting by a lot. I don’t care if you’ve got rabid zombie people after you that’s just obnoxious.

Very beautiful use of color, impressive battle sequences and some strong performances, especially the incredible albeit fake old-looking (lol) Tatsuya Nakadai. I'll admit I got a little lost in the plot at times with a lot of moving parts but still found the story intriguing as I am not familiar with King Lear. Solid film, just wasn't blown away by it.
