Old People 2022
A film about homicidal senior citizens and somehow it doesn’t degrade or marginalize them. In fact, I saw it as a white knuckled, blood fisted response to elder abuse and neglect.
I’ve seen it done to members of my own family when I was young. These places we bring them to are rarely loving homes but institutions born out of greed.What if all those people lying in beds in their own waste suddenly gains inhuman strength and senseless rage?…

My daughter is 12 and she is so much like these girls that it was almost frightening. I’ve never witnessed a film so dialed into the subtle nuances of being a Child and that ability to face the unknown with a shrug or a faint smile. The plot device used to bring these two girls together is so beautiful and simple that it made my heart lift. What a warm hug of a movie this was
