  Producer/writer/director/cinematographer Mark Region’s After Last Season is often mentioned alongside such jarringly guileless films as Tommy Wiseau’s The Room, James Nguyen’s Birdemic and the films of Neil Breen.   Genuinely recaptures some of that old Empire/early FM magic. Feels beamed in. Small scale, impossibly cheap but full of credible FX shots, effective music cues, inventive photography and scrappy editing choices. Nice to see the crew regulars working on something that isn't a franchise entry. Solid 👍
