I was initially not that excited to watch this, but the whole time I was totally entranced.
Vertov rejects traditional narrative structures, but in the 'observation' through the camera (kinoeye) it entirely becomes a narrative in itself - just showcasing day-to-day life.
In his manifesto 'We: Varient of a Manifesto' he endorses and glorifies the morphing of technology and man, which I disagree with, but in the cultural frame of early 20th century I can see the appeal.Now, this is where my experimental media A1 comes into play 😈
