I don't know where to start. The cinematography played into all my guilty pleasures. The mix of unconventional focal lengths, color and black-and-white film, what looked like practical effects on the serialist title cards, and an apparent nod to Pablo Ferro's typography in Dr. Strangelove. The set design, costume design, and world building was, for lack of a better word, otherworldly.
When it comes to the story, I was a little concerned it was going down a Lolita rout at first, but Emma Stones character spent the entire movie defying expectations in the best ways. This is the Barbie movie for metamodern serialist.

Solid movie. It was a fun commentary on the service industry and fine dining. Quirky, suspenseful, and a bit surreal. It has a lot of the same eat-the-rich themes as Triangle of Sadness, but surprisingly (spoiler) there was no cannibalism.
