  never did i expect this to be not just cohesive, but good. this movie not only fixes my major issues with peter parker’s previous characterization in the MCU, but it solidifies tom holland as the spider-man, just as much as tobey maguire and andrew garfield were the spider-man before him. there’s plenty more to praise and criticize but i just had to say how much i enjoyed spider-man himself in this movie. it’s refreshing.

  Uhhh, what? Obviously I’m going to love this movie, with its Malick-like inner monologues, father-son character dynamic, and overall tone. Brad Pitt gives one of the best performances of all time. The dialogue is amazing. The movie, though slow, is very well-paced. The visuals and use of sound are absolutely masterful and gorgeous. This is my favorite movie of the year so far, and I doubt anything can top this besides Malick’s own latest feature.
