Hereditary 2018
I rate this one with somewhat of caveat: I haven’t seen the entire movie. However, I know this is the most terrifying thing I have ever seen. In the same cinematic breath there are beautiful time lapses and picturesque shots that draw you in and absolutely terrifying scenes that snap your nerves.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness 2022
Lower than mid. I expected more, but I probably shouldn’t have. MCU stuff of late (Spider-Man: Homeless and Shang-Chi and the Lord of the Rings) has just been lost on me. Boring, kinda bad plot. Too much fan service to be coherent. I really liked the first one, but apparently that director did a bad job on it. Personally I think Raimi’s touch made this movie cringey. Three thumbs down (one for each of the lame “multiverses” they explored in any halfway substantial way).

The Evil Dead 1981
Had to go back and trash this Raimi movie bc I think I hate his directing. Multiverse of Madness was boring. The plot never got interesting and a lot of the scenes were just downright cringeworthy. Anyways, this movie was garbage…I tapped out halfway through the godawful tree rape scene.
