  1. extremely challenging and equally rewarding watch
  2. so influential for contemporary cinema (seeing as it is the year of barbenheimer i am referring to its use of color/b&w and plot but i’m sure there’s more)
  3. saw the remastered version on the big screen and wow these are some of the best oners i’ve ever seen

  i really enjoyed
  - how makoto shinkai uses first love (so pure! so innocent!) as a plot device in his adventure stories. this kind of storytelling just makes me feel like a kid reading adventure novels in the garden and its the loveliest feeling 🤍
