Dream Scenario 2023
The Cancel culture and internet fame themes I could take or leave, but I think it’s more interesting when it explores self image vs public perception.
We all know the saying “you’re your own harshest critic”, but this movie really worked when it tapped into my biggest fear: “but what if you aren’t?”

A Real Pain 2024
A real pleasure of a movie that’s for sure.
It probably says more about me how uncomfortable Benji made me but also how irrationally angry it made me when the others just accepted his actions (in a really compelling way). But I guess that’s sort of the point, or to me it was.

The Brutalist 2024
I slipped so effortlessly into this world and stayed there until the epilogue, which caught me off guard and still figuring out how I feel about it. This has also fully convinced me intermissions should be commonplace in all movies over 2.5 hours, although I wouldn’t even say no to 5 minutes in anything shorter. Music, guy pearce, vistavision, Adrian brody, all top tier.
