Nickel Boys 2024
Nickel Boys is definitely the most experimental film of this Awards Season.
The story is very classic but the numerous and continuous visual solutions make it deeply stimulating to follow, thanks to a direction that focuses entirely on immersion and, above all, to a masterful cinematography. Unfortunately I can't understand some choices: such as making the film so long, or the use of the 4:3 aspect ratio which, in my opinion, makes everything more beautiful but not very functional.

The Well 2023
The Well is a truly important film for Italian Horror Cinema. An incredibly well-directed experiment by Federico Zampaglione that manages to pay homage to the past and look to the future; embellished by incredible performances from Lauren LaVera and Lorenzo Renzi. I sincerely hope that projects like this will not remain exceptions for enthusiasts.
