  Puer Aeternus / Puella Aeterna 

  The two leads (+Rory Culkin) are both struggling to confer with this inner child inside them that’s begging so much to grow. Stuck within their past pain, unable to individuate and take on adult responsibility.

  I find it so fascinating to witness their struggle between romanticism and skepticism. Both Jin & Casey are fighting so hard to confront their idealism with the need for comfort and love they failed to receive prior. Walking around fawning and musing…

  Invigorating, uncomfortable tale about the dizziness of freedom and futile efforts of responsibility. I was glued throughout the full 2 hours, watching Olivia Coleman struggling to come to terms with reality in a powerful performance from her, as well as Dakota Johnson (as Nina) and Ed Harris (as Lyle)

  This courageous screenplay (adapted from novella by Elena Ferrante) touches on some uneasy truths that many parents will likely be afraid to admit. So far my favourite of Venezia 78. (2nd sep) Impressive debut from Maggie!

  Although I’d like to commend him on the fact he’s contributing something different, vulgar yes, but nevertheless nomadic, essential + reflective of/in response to the state of media today.
