Grand Theft Hamlet 2024
Something about this really struck a chord in me, despite some of the somewhat rough setups added to facilitate the complications of the world opening up from the shutdowns of the pandemic.
The whole idea of "let's do Shakespeare in GTA V" is such a wild pitch for an idea, especially if you've spent any time in the online game, it's almost too good to resist watching this quick documentary about it.
I found myself really feeling the amped up…

A Real Pain 2024
Something about this movie really worked for me. Jesse Eisenberg managed to beautifully capture that feeling of unfounded inadequacy that we all have felt in comparison to some other person who you see as flawlessly “cooler” than you.
A perfect 90 minute movie as far as I’m concerned. I wanted more resolution, strangely, but I really enjoyed the muted tone of the whole film. It was funny and cringey and sad without leaning particularly far into any of those feelings. I dig it.

Psycho 1960
Disclaimer: The vibes at the 70mm podcast showing for this movie were immaculate. Just straight up a good time. The afterparty? chef’s kiss
I remember seeing this at some point as a teenager, turns out I wiped the middle third of this movie from memory. All I can say is: trim down some of the slowness in the middle and this is a perfect movie. Nothing more to say that hasn’t already been said by people far smarter than me.
Thx 70mm for making a damn fine community and meetup. ❤️🙏✨
