  Godzilla Raids Again 1955

  Such a step down from the first film. Along with largely abandoning any metaphorical usage of Godzilla, there is just a sense of dread or foreboding that's missing as well. The action stuff is fun enough, particularly thanks to Godzilla having a true adversary, but this is a movie that reeks of needing to pump out a sequel as quickly as possible.

  The Barnyard Battle 1929

  ★★★ Watched 21 Mar 2025

  There are a couple of very creative gags in here, along with some surprisingly extensive body manipulation. Much of the battle stuff isn’t all that interesting, but the scenes with Mickey face to face with someone work. It’s okay.

  I understand the aesthetic appeal of Anya Taylor-Joy traversing 1960s London, believe me. But everything else here… is just so muddled and boring, two words I never thought I’d use to describe an Edgar Wright movie. Such a let down.
