    Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania

    During this cinema viewing the following happened;

    - Two students spent the entire time on their phone.
    - Two children entered the theatre 30 minutes into the show and got told off by a patron for being there.
    - Someone tripped and fell into the lap of another person they didn’t know and pretty much head butted them.
    - A woman cackled at every moment.. funny or unfunny.

    And all of this was more entertaining than the film.

    But seriously… get off your fucking phone in the cinema!

    Challenge 70

    #56 - A NC-17 Rated Film

    This film is rightly very divisive. On one part, it’s shot beautifully. A blend from colour to black-and-white, slow to fast, past to present.

    Ana De Armas is magnificent in this. Bringing the role to life and making this lengthy piece something. This couldn’t of been an easy film to star in. A performance she can be proud of but not necessarily a film she can.

    I’m not a Marilyn Monroe historian.…

    I’ve read the reviews of this going into it. Misery porn, emotional exploitation ect.. The Whale is all these things but it works so well and I’m a sucker for it.

    The hype of Brendan Fraser’s performance was massive. After viewing I am fully on the band wagon. If Brendan does not win the Oscar I will riot with the masses.

    A truly depressing two hours… depressing and brilliant.

    Slow. Subtle. Simple. Satisfying. Cow.

    This was a /rLetterboxd Film Club watch in the category of Farmlands. Nominated by yours truly as it has been on my watchlist since before it’s release.

    A much slower tempo than expected but it works so well. Watched this on a quiet Sunday morning and it works perfectly.
