Feels so real. You get the feeling Sean Baker really cares for the lingo, culture and just the way his characters live and speak in his films. It was the exact same with The Florida project. There’s this feeling that these are real ass people living in a movie.

Call Me by Your Name 2017
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Criminally late to the party, but I’ll still say it.
The first half is literally the pinnacle of slice of life cinema. The subtle tension between Hammer and Chalamet feels like it might tip into animosity or infatuation at any moment, and Luca never gets in the way of their chemistry. The second half is also brilliant, but the final monologue and ending felt like sentimental devices and didn’t really work for me.

Asteroid City 2023
I think Wes Anderson needs to dig a bit deeper and shy away from his own Wes Anderson-ness. Like at this point he’s just making Wes Anderson movies. Do you get me? This felt more like what someone who sees Wes Anderson trends on instagram imagines a Wes Anderson movie to be like. As if Wes Anderson just said, imma make the most Wes Anderson movie of all my Wes Anderson movies. He needs to prove that he can make something else than Wes Anderson movies. I think Wes Anderson is drowning in his own Wes Anderson movies.

Kan ikke lage homagefilm til Oslo og ikke vise en eneste kebabsjappe🤦🏾♂️. Hadde Anders funnet seg frem til Tåsen cafebar lover jeg at filmen hadde hatt en mindre trist slutt.
Trist film tho. Veldig fransk. Mye bra dialog, eller refleksjoner fra karakterene.
