That is NOT me in my pic.
Favourites are my top four from the previous month.
Possibly the longest 90 minutes of my life. Even the throwaway scenes feel like they drag on for an eternity.
It definitely has some truly great moments, but they are unfortunately sparsely spread out among a plethora of poor acting and mediocre writing. The film seemed to get less scary as it went on, succumbing to its own absurdity. The underlying themes also felt a bit too on-the-nose for me.
A very fine finale for the finest of Bonds. It's good, very good.
The fact that Wolfwalkers is being compared to Ghibli films should speak for itself. However, it must be said that the art style is truly brilliant in its own right. The contrast in detail between the relative simplicity of the town and the intricacy of the forest works wonders in complementing the wonderful characters that inhabit them, as well as the enchanting, magical story.
