Normally I don’t really like Quentin Tarentino films, but this one was bearable. The just normal plot with just normal things works very well, just sprinkle in some family guy bullshit and drama and you have a good film.
Absolutely amazing. At one point when Aragorn along with the men of the west were at the black gate and Aragorn steps forward and looks back at the camera and the troops there is like a second or 3/5 where it is totally quiet before saying “for Frodo”. During that silence it was beautiful to see that in a fully packed big cinema (a few hundred people) everyone was totally quiet full of excitement for what is about to happen. And that is not something that many films can achieve.
Falls into the same sorta cringe and unnecessary traps that most other action films fall into, but that is what you can expect from a mission impossible film. Other than that it perfectly delivers on what it sets out to do.
Tom Cruise was as amazing as ever and his input in the decision making really shone trough. Other than that the stunts were really cool.
Side note: The dutch subtitles were exceptionally good. The dutch subtitles for the russian (dialect) parts was way better than the english ones.
