  this story is so important and the more people know about it the better. the parallels mike leigh draws between both the battle of Waterloo and the current day are very poignant. HOWEVER I found this film so fucking boring. I really wanted to like it, I love mike leigh, but the whole thing just felt like a drag. It felt like leigh had been so uncompromising with putting forward all of the facts and maintaining historical accuracy, that any sense of drama and plot and character connection was lost. That being said the final battle sequence was harrowing and so well done.
