  this story was written in 1843 by a bisexual man and it shows!!! I feel like everyone sleeps on how touching this tale about finding your people is. Also he’s literally just a baby 🥺

  Halfway through I realized why this movie felt so familiar: it has the exact vibe of 2006-2010 youtube!

  - short, tenuously connected scenes
  - edgy, absurdist humour
  - low to no budget
  - everyone in it is clearly just someone John waters knew
  - DIY sets and costumes
  - you would tell someone how funny it is and then go to show it to them and then be embarrassed two minutes in by just how offensive it is

  None of this is a critique, I just feel that John waters would have done insane numbers on early social video platforms

  I love stories that have no need to explain themselves. Surprising amount of cute chemistry between the couple! And it’s interesting to see how the progression of their relationship is just a complete given in the 30s. Great art deco backdrops.
