Deducted 1.5 stars since I couldn’t really get into the romance aspect of it at all, which is what the movie was marketed as and what everyone else seems to be connecting with. There was no light shed on what the two lead characters’ pull was to each other as individual people except for a strong sense of nostalgia.
However, this movie did make me emotional because I personally interpreted the love triangle as a metaphor for the immigrant experience…
