  The first half is quite slow, some scenes could have been cut or shortened, but when the tension escalates, this film is able to grip your attention and glue you to the screen.
  A harsh critique on the dehumanization of soldiers set in a British military prison in north Africa during ww2, in my opinion it has a lot of themes in common with Paths of glory by Stanley Kubrick.
