Look Back 2024
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I swear my heart shattered when Kyomoto confessed that she wanted to go to art school and Fujino tried to deter her by stating all of Kyomoto's shortcomings and insecurities. I did not expect this movie about sentient transforming trucks to tackle class consciousness and labor laws, but apparently it did! And that made it all the more special. In a time wherein dark, "serious" films mishandle complex themes with centrist writing, Transformers One redefines complexity by presenting an accessible narrative of good versus evil without spoon-feeding which is black and which is white to viewers. On a less serious note, robot yaoi.
