Such a spellbinding movie. The last third does such a brilliant job of depicting the traumatic/dissociative alienation that Therese feels toward the life she previously lived. Then the last scene where Carol glances at her from across the room looking like a literal cat, slow blinking at her. Like it’s clear that she felt intense & exceptional feelings toward her, but the way Cate embodied the specific psychology of Carol’s manipulative and narcissistic lesbianism…my god. A woman like Carol would snore too tho. So it upset me that they showed her sleeping so demurely, but that’s neither here nor there..
