  A film that has the narrator describe every detail of action right before it happens, at least for the first segment. She’s speaking directly to us, baring every detail of her life to the screen, literally, but also speaking to herself? Going over every little detail in her head before she moves, the crippling feeling of being too in your in own head to the point that you can’t do anything for yourself. 

  Shocker to find out The Man Who Sleeps came out the same year as this, something was in the air in France in 1974.

  So much of the movie was spent trying to figure out who Peter Jackson played, either every white dude in New Zealand looks like him or he played everyone in this I don’t even know

  As the cinema lights dimmed and I waited for Eraserhead to start, David Lynch’s weather report started playing, then a video of him playing the trumpet, and then him enjoying two cookies and a coke before the movie did actually come on. Underneath it all there was a deep sense of happiness in the cinema as we watched Jack Nance enjoy being a dad.
