I'm Still Here 2024
I thought the first half of this was on a different level to the rest—particularly the scenes where she is detention. Sadly it falls off a lot and drags on for way too long (with a particularly disappointing last scene). I didn’t think it said anything particularly new or original about a family’s search for accountability and justice but I suppose it didn’t have to!

Dune: Part Two 2024
So many parts of this are a transcendental experience. The sandworm scene still got me 😵💫😱🫣🤩 I think some of the storytelling (especially towards the second half) got a bit sloppy and the last third definitely felt a bit rushed - but I guess it’s kind of inevitable when trying to move along the plot of the book. Regardless, this is truly an incredible film and I felt so immersed in the astounding world Villeneuve has yet again pulled off in creating. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 also, that soundtrack 😭😍 (apologies for speaking in emojis, but Dune brings out strong reactions in me)

I actually really loved this. Lily-Rose Depp was excellent and I love that they made her the central character. Also so many interesting themes and messages you can dig your teeth into and chat w friends about, if you are so inclined! Kinda wish Count Orlock had been a bit sexier but oh well :/
