As a personal bias, People blowing up in horror movies have always been pretty lame to me and they go that route for half the kills. But they show a dead body in a sleeping bag on an autopsy table and it was one of the funniest and most raw thing I’ve seen in a while, so the movie won me over with that.
I didn’t know it was based off a Stephen King short story but it feels like it…
I hate to say it but the action for this one is the only thing that stands out. I’ve grown past the adult size action figures climaxes making the movie an instant banger. And unfortunately I was only ever glued to the screen when Sam is flying through the sky and using his wings to be a lethal pilot.
Shit I can’t even remember if they ever call Mr Blue by his actual villain name. But Harrison Ford with a fake mustache made my night so I can’t complain too much.

The Bells
I know exactly what’s this is inspired by. My grandma used to say that If you hear church bells that means you’re hearing the bells that’ll play for your upcoming funeral. Very dark ass saying to tell a kid. But this short plays well into that message.
Any creature design that messes with the mouth is gonna immediately give me the creeps so that’s exactly what Thai short did. Way better than the Lost Dog’s monster design.
This had my BALLS in my throat just with the anxiety tension alone.
Barbarian uses one scare tactic and it works for most of the movie. The creature has you by the throat. It’s nasty, it’s inhuman, it’s a nightmare bred in a incest dungeon.
The opening completely fools you. It has “slasher” vibes until Bam- it’s a survive or die movie.
It’s on the level of the movie X, and honestly I would recommend this to someone.
Hope to see more films like this.
