Inception 2010
Man this still holds up and goes so hard. Looks and feel is great, but the character and world of it are even better. Love the concept of a mindfuck, dream logic action move and wish it had caught on more after this came out. This is the rare movie where I would have actually liked to see some sequels or a TV adaptation.

Balls to the wall avant-garde banger. There’s people I know who don’t like this because it’s every difficult art film cliche all at once, but that’s because this is where those cliches come from. As it was initially released as a silent film with people doing various soundtracks over the years, you owe it to yourself to try syncing it up with the self-titled Queens of the Stone Age record from 1998, Wizard of Oz/Dark Side of the Moon style.

Horse Girl 2020
Utterly slams. Like some sort of psychedelic Taxi Driver for Tumblr girls. Maybe Donnie Darko is a better comparison. Slowly becoming an all time favorite with every rewatch. Paris well with Palm Springs (dir. Max Barbakow, 2020) as a double feature. RIP Jeff Baena.
