  It feels like a classic sci fi short story with modern takes. The lessons on humanity might seem preachy if it took itself more seriously but the tone is fun and over the top. Pattinson hams it up in his role feeling like a lovable caricature of himself. Ruffalo also plays up a not so subtle parody on modern oligarchs it almost feels too on the nose for Bong Joon Ho.   The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim 2024

  This was the best I could’ve hoped for in a new Lord of the Rings project. The story is self contained and lower stakes but focuses more on engaging character driven conflict. The music is inspired by Howard shore’s work but doesn’t feel too derivative.

  While the animation was gorgeous at times, it came off as uncanny and a bit jarring in others. Not sure if it was over processed or not.

  The story is fun and whimsical and I felt like it was a twist on Hamlet which was fitting for the Scottish influence in Rohan’s designs.

  I barely cared enough about the characters to have stake in the story. They string you along with a fun mystery but their hands are shown too early and the message is weak. It’s like if Saw was food and could've been half as long.
