High highs and middling lows. Loved the lush lighting and densely layered foliage, didn't love how the animation became noticeably more choppy when C-tier cast members were animated. Loved how they sent that secretary bird up Jacob's ladder, didn't love how the comic relief interludes were mostly compilations of Funny Animal Moments. Loved when the cat dreams.

Lost Highway 1997
I was so decentered by the first half of this movie that I began aggressively dissecting my own life in tandem with its slow, counter-methodical plot. As the forces at play came into focus in the second half, I was filled with a deep anger -- but it had nowhere to go.
