A fun time but it is still the first three episodes of a TV show stapled together. A little strange experience for the cinema, especially since the first segment tries to cram a little too much in 20 minutes. Will have to see how the rest of the show goes later on. From how this is, I'm feeling optimistic about it.

It's a deleted scenes reel. Scenes just play out one after another like a standard special feature. A few parts of it don't necessarily feel finished.

A relentlessly unsettling movie. Somehow through Lynch's heightened surrealism, he manages to ground the dark magic fantasies of the TV show into something uncomfortably real.

It's a close and intense look at the final days of Laura Palmer that has a constant building anxiety throughout the entire film. The utterly brilliant sound design conveys it perfectly, almost never stopping until the right moments where the silence is just as scary.

An intensely melancholic movie. The characters already feel emotionally broken beyond repair from the start. How empty the world feels to them all is so effectively communicated. There's so much open space around them, they don't have much to say.

Things can get ugly and sometimes there's still beauty in life, but nobody feels like they belong here. Fantastic shots of nature, incredible music by Joe Hisaishi but It's all about a deeply sad dead end.
