    Have you ever had that dream where you are falling down, from a place of darkness to another of a pitch black void, that jolts you awake, sweating profusely from the shock? Vertigo to me felt like the embodiment of just that dream I've had so many times.

    The undertones of toxic masculinity, fear and desire, the unexpected swerves and suspense, made this movie one of my all-time favorites on the very first watch.

    Finally, my first Tarkovsky. I decided to not take notes during the movie, unlike what I usually do with most other movies, and only write my handful thoughts at the end, after the movie has shown me what it must.

    Tarkovsky's elements are shot beautifully. The vibrations in the water, the mellow light and soulful earth, the trees as a labyrinth for Masha, the famous kiss scene and the masterful low-angle shot.
