Dune 2021
One of the better sci-fis I've seen, overall. Setting felt unique, it was a fun time, it made uniquely good use of it's Hollywood budget. I've, however, little to say about it as a story, which is a pretty scathing critique. Also they named that man Duncan Idaho and I nearly screamed. Hopefully the next one gets better, given the Fremen are more central and I massively prefer the Fremen to most of the rest of the story's groups.

An extraordinarily good movie, by most accounts - shot with incredible confidence and power, with a plot that's extremely emotionally gripping, not to mention the subtlety and power of the acting. But two things hold it back; two things I can't find myself ignoring. There's the obvious, glaring flaw; Pinbacker. Fucking Pinbacker. A villain who, to me, makes no sense as an addition.
