An absolutely perfect movie (apart from Amy Adams' American accent when speaking Chinese). Nothing more humanizing and heartfelt - not at all what I was expecting from a movie about aliens. I can think of nothing better.

Perhaps the sweetest movie I have watched this year! Cartoon Saloon made me want to know my own Southern folklore better and become a selkie.

I was so naive to think that this would be a walk in the park movie because it's from the 80's. "The special effects wont be as good so there's no way it could really be all that scary." I was wrong. This movie was genuinely terrifying. It was brilliant to combine space (an already daunting setting) and an unbeatable unknown beast. I will never disrespect this movie again. But I still must ask, why were Sigourney Weaver's underwear that low rise?

Heath Ledger is the only man who deserves rights.
